For those who didn't know already, I actually have two other blogs up here on the Interwebs. One is just a blog I started to rant on that never got updated, and the other is a blog that was simply an echo for my Facebook notes about music. This blog is also about music, but it's a bit different in that it will only consist of lists, and will only be about music I like (the other blog doesn't have any music I don't like either, but that's because it was hardly updated). I'll whimsically rebut any comment about why some record I don't like is cool, possibly even turn it into a blog post (although never insult you, the music fan, who suggested it).
To go a bit more in depth on what I'll be doing here, I will be writing a top 5 list each week of my favorite new albums that came out in the past week, whether they be local, national, rock, pop, hip-hop, metal, indie, or mainstream (probably not). Since I'll only have the top 5 up, I fully encourage discussion, dissent, even comments on how terrible my taste in music is that I didn't include Sleigh Bells on my list (and given the records on said list I still won't, but I do enjoy Treats). I'm going to try to do this every Sunday, and I may also post midweek honorable mentions and good tracks that I've heard, plus stuff about music I'm excited for in the coming amounts of time. This Sunday, I'm going camping, so obviously I will not have time for a list.
HOPEFULLY, I will also be recording a weekly podcast about new music, and will try to include suggestions from those that comment on my blog. They'll generally be about two hours long and will feature the top 5, the suggestions from the comments, and a lot of standout tracks from the recent past, plus some old tracks that I find new music's influence coming from. Again, this is why comments are encouraged; if you want to hear me play something, comment, and your wish will more than likely be granted (at least until I get people to actually read this).
